This section provides a selection of relevant academic publications which are not direct outputs of this research project. The literature is divided into five broad section: South African Research focuses on existing local research relating to minimum wages and relevant contextual research and data; International Research presents case study evidence on minimum wage implementation from around the world; Theory provides publications relating to theoretical approaches to implementing national minimum wage laws and their consequences; Workers’ Needs offers research relating to poverty lines, living levels and living wages; finally Policy presents information on international practice in the design, implementation and monitoring of national minimum wages.
